Emergency First Aid at Work
Emergency First Aid at Work is the basic starting point for First Aid in the workplace. With the course lasting 1 day we give you the basic skills you need to make a real difference when it's needed.
Topics on the course range from practical elements like CPR, to theoretical elements like treating shock so you know how to help when someone you know is taken ill.
Areas covered on EFAW include:
The role of a First Aider
Assessing the situation
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Treatment for choking
Treatment of minor injuries (cuts, burns, splinters, etc)
First Aid at Work
This three day course builds on the basics covered in EFAW, giving you more practical skills, and theoretical knowledge to help you deal with a much wider set of situations and illnesses in the workplace.
Still with the same emphasis on a balance of practical and theoretical training, this course aims to give you a lot more knowledge and confidence to treat more complex situations with the care they deserve.
Areas covered here in addition to EFAW include:
Sprains and Strains
Wounds and significant bleeding
Heat related illness
+ F add-on
The +F add-on for First Aid is aimed primarily at the forestry industry. It gives more depth and understanding to the potential emergency scenarios you may come across in these sorts of environments.
With the training done alongside either EFAW or FAW as described above it enhances your ability to deal with certain circumstances.
Areas covered in addition to EFAW / FAW:
Tick borne viruses
Use of tourniquets / haemostatic dressings
Suspension related injuries
