Who is this for? 

Our Industrial Counterbalance Forklift courses are designed for anyone who needs to operate a counterbalance forklift safely and competently in the workplace. Whether you're completely new to forklift operation or looking to refresh your existing skills, we offer training to suit your level of experience.

These courses are ideal for:

Our training combines classroom-based theory with practical, hands-on instruction, helping delegates develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to operate industrial counterbalance forklifts safely and efficiently in a variety of working environments.

Courses Available

INDUSTRIAL COUNTERBALANCE - NOVICE

Between 3-5 Days Depending on candidate numbers

Designed for individuals with little or no previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift. The course provides comprehensive training in the safe operation of industrial counterbalance lift trucks, combining essential theory with practical, hands-on instruction to build confidence and competence.

Throughout the course, delegates will learn how to carry out pre-use inspections, understand operator responsibilities, manoeuvre and control the forklift safely, handle and stack loads correctly, and operate in a range of workplace environments. Training also covers current health and safety legislation, hazard awareness, and best practices for preventing workplace accidents.

Industrial Counterbalance - Experienced
2 Day

Designed for operators who have substantial practical experience using a counterbalance forklift but has no current certification. This course recognises existing skills while ensuring operators meet current industry standards for safe and efficient forklift operation.

The programme combines classroom-based theory with practical assessment and instruction, allowing experienced drivers to refine their operating techniques, address any unsafe habits, and strengthen their understanding of current health and safety legislation. Delegates will cover topics including pre-use inspections, operator responsibilities, load handling, manoeuvring in confined spaces, stacking and de-stacking, workplace hazards, and safe operating practices.

By building on existing experience, the course helps operators improve their confidence, efficiency, and compliance with recognised industry standards while ensuring they can demonstrate safe working practices in a range of workplace environments.

For fully qualified drivers of ICB who's certification is coming up for renewal or to refresh training. 

Industrial Counterbalance - Conversion from Industrial Reach
1 Day

For fully qualified drivers of ICB who which to transition between machine types.
