David Upsall

David is the newest member of the CoLa instructing team.

David is a married father of three who spends his spare time helping family and friends and doing some maintenance work for a local childrens nursery alongside him being a kayaking instructor for a national voluntary youth organisation.

David's Story

David has a considerable level of experience driving varying types of equipment gained through many years of first hand experience within various industries.

David started his MHE career within the food industry gaining his first forklift experience in a factory setting starting in 1986. David progressed from driving counterbalance to driving reach trucks as stores person for the same company. To progress his career, and for a change of scenery David opted to gain his HGV c+e (class 1, back then) in 1991 still working for the same company making deliveries both locally and to national distribution centres.

Davids next move, in 1999, saw him take to the timber products industry with a timber yard in Boston. Here, David gained valuable experience driving sideloaders and keeping up to date with his counterbalance driving in a busy manufacturing environment.

It was whilst here that David undertook his combilift training and latterly became a forklift truck instructor in 2018. David, as many others do, unfortunately went through a redundancy process in mid 2022, which opened the door to him becoming a member of the CoLa team in October 2022.
