David has a considerable level of experience operating various types of equipment, gained through many years of hands-on experience working within different industries.

David started his MHE career in the food industry, gaining his first forklift experience in a factory setting in 1986. He progressed from driving counterbalance trucks to reach trucks while working as a stores person for the same company.

Looking to progress his career and gain a change of scenery, David obtained his HGV C+E (Class 1) licence in 1991, while continuing to work for the same company and making deliveries both locally and to national distribution centres.

In 1999, David moved into the timber products industry, joining a timber yard in Boston. Here, he gained valuable experience operating sideloaders while continuing to develop his counterbalance skills in a busy manufacturing environment.

It was during this time that David undertook his Combilift training, further expanding his experience with specialist MHE equipment.

David later became a forklift truck instructor in 2018, combining his many years of practical experience with his passion for developing other operators.

David joined the CoLa Training team in October 2022, bringing with him a wealth of practical knowledge and industry experience.

David now uses his extensive hands-on experience to deliver effective, practical training across a range of MHE equipment.
